Our mission

To build the next generation of purpose-built developer tooling to bend the curve on software quality and development velocity. We are starting with the problem of code review and quality control.

The role

As a Founding Senior Infrastructure engineer you’ll help us manage and improve how Mesa is delivered to end users. We manage our infrastructure with SST and deploy on AWS. You’ll be responsible for helping us scale this infrastructure, improve our job system, improve our observability, and help us build the most reliable product possible for our customers.

• Be seen by the world’s greatest builders: Our early investors and users invented search, the feed and the like button, and our users are hardcore developers with high expectations. From day 1 your work will be the cornerstone for how they view our product’s quality and reliability and there will be ample opportunity to contribute back to the community via open source libraries and contributions.
• Build for yourself: Mesa brings together engineering, product, and design in a single collaboration layer. You will use Mesa every day to build and ship software.

You’ll be a good fit if you…

• Love open source. We rely on, contribute to, and will soon maintain a bunch of open source libraries and tools. You should love to the process of interacting with various projects, forking, digging deep into others’ code, etc.
• Understand the tech stack at a deep level. We are deployed on AWS using SST (which uses Pulumi). You should feel comfortable operating in an event-driven system that takes advantage of the various primitives that AWS has to offer.
• Have worked with distributed systems.
• Want to grind and be recognized. Effort is the only input that is entirely in our control. We stay focused and stay late, because nothing feels better than the recognition that we’ve built something great.
